John Francis "Sean"/ "Frank" Emery, 55, Manhattan, N.Y., passed away unexpectedly March 14, 2016 at his residence.

He was born August 6, 1960, in Sharon, son of Lester P. and Patricia M. (Moran) Emery.

Surviving are his mother; two sisters: Kathleen M. Bartel and husband, Chris, of Williamsburg and Susan P. of Altoona; three brothers: Michael "Vince" and Mark J., both of Hollidaysburg, and Matthew E. and wife, Tammy, of Altoona.

He was preceded in death by his father in 2009.

Frank was a 1978 graduate of Hollidaysburg Area High School, a 1982 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and he earned his Ph.D. from the University of San Diego, Calif. He was employed as a molecular researcher.

A private memorial Mass will be celebrated at the convenience of the family at St. Mary Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg, Father Anthony J. Legarski as celebrant. Interment will be held in New St. Mary Cemetery, Hollidaysburg. Arrangements are by Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg.
